Celebrate Independence Day with some fun!

29869107_sJuly fourth is always such a fun holiday to celebrate. There aren’t a lot of rules, though red, white and blue must be incorporated. Parties are casual, fun and laid back. Here are some of my ideas for incorporating fireworks into your pre-fireworks celebrations:

– Insert bottle sparklers into the top of your champagne bottles. Make it festive. We found some nice options on Amazon.

– Set up a Mojitos stand and incorporate some color by freezing fruit inside your ice cubes. It’s easy and fun and though it takes some thinking ahead, it doesn’t take much time at all.  10066448_s

– Get creative with the ever-fun, ever-delicious summer treat: s’mores. Whether you make them tabletop or make them over an open-flame, spice them up and find a new twist.

– Of course, fruit skewers are always welcome. I like to continue to incorporate the festive colors by serving fruit skewers consisting of watermelon, feta and blueberries… and we usually throw in some basil for good measure.

July fourth is not a fancy holiday. Cheeseburgers and apple pie do the trick. Make it easy  and enjoy the holiday. Chances are, you’ll be too hot from the mid-summer heat to do too much work any way.

Happy Independence Day, everyone! We have much to celebrate!
